On the occasion of the 69th anniversary of the Hungarian National Holiday, the Consulate General held a reception where participants together recalled the events of the 1956 revolution and fight of independence. After the ceremonial speech by Consul General Istv\u00e1n Bebes, State Secretary Dr. Mikl\u00f3s Dukai followed, who in his address stated that even today, in 2025, we must follow in the footsteps of the heroes of \u201956 and do everything for the independence and freedom of our homeland and nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the evening, Andr\u00e1s M\u00e1tyus was awarded the Gold Hungarian Cross of Merit, followed by a concert featuring Be\u00e1ta Gincsai on piano and P\u00e9ter Horv\u00e1th, t\u00e1rogat\u00f3 artist. The event concluded with a standing reception. The Order of Vit\u00e9z was represented Chief Censor Councillor and Staff Captain Vit\u00e9z G\u00e1bor Hegyi de Agyagfalva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
