On October 3, 2026, members of the Duna-Csepel Region of the Order of Vitéz took part, as part of a cultural programme, in an extraordinary musical performance by the six-member ensemble of Dr. Vitéz József Terék.
The event was held at a worthy venue provided by the Mayor of Legénd, Vitéz Baron Tamás Tunkel, Staff Captain. Eight members of the Duna-Csepel Region, led by Vitéz Margit Kótai, Seat Captain, represented the Order at the event. (Vitéz József Pintér, Mrs. József Pintér (Ágnes), Vitéz Nob. Miklós Bánó, Vitéz Ferenc Hegedüs, Vitéz Pál Beck, Vitéz Tibor Őszy, Katalin Kótai and Vitéz Margit Kótai.)
The focus of the performance was on songs from the musical heritage of the Horthy era, faithfully evoking the historical and cultural atmosphere of the period. The six-member ensemble accompanied the performance in a professional arrangement. The works performed were not merely arrangements: Dr. Vitéz József Terék drew upon and presented selections from his own collection of folk music, giving the programme a particularly distinctive and valuable character.
One of the highlights of the evening was the performance of Dr. Vitéz József Terék, who brought the melodies to life on a remarkable, one-hundred-year-old tárogató. The unique tone of this historic Hungarian instrument, combined with the ensemble’s outstanding musicianship, created a truly captivating experience for all of us.
The members of the Order of Vitéz would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Mayor of Legénd for his hospitality and for providing the venue, as well as to the ensemble and to our fellow member of the Order, Dr. Vitéz József Terék, for this unforgettable cultural experience. The event provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen the bonds of fellowship within the Order and to preserve and cherish our historical heritage.
At the conclusion of the performance, a particularly thoughtful and valuable gesture was made: every participant received a selection of sheet music representing this musical heritage as a gift. The music booklets were personally dedicated by the authors to those in attendance.
