Commemorations on October 6

October 8, 2026

On the morning of October 6, 2026, on the Day of Remembrance for the Martyrs of Arad, eight members represented the Order of Vitéz at the commemorative ceremony organised by the Csepel Municipality. We placed the wreath of our Order and candles of remembrance at the memorial plaque. Our representatives were: Vitéz Margit Kótai, Seat Captain; Vitéz József Pintér; Mrs. Józsefné Pintér (Ágnes); Vitéz Attila Hollik; Vitéz Pál Beck; Vitéz Marcel Kettner; Vitéz Tibor Őszy; and Vitéz László Nagy. Honour to the heroes!

In the evening, our legitimate Order of Vitéz was also represented at a commemoration dedicated to Count Lajos Batthyány, Hungary’s first Prime Minister, who was executed as a martyr during the Hungarian Revolution and War of Independence of 1848–1849. The commemoration took place in the small square in Budapest where the memorial erected in his honour – the Batthyány Eternal Flame – stands. The event was organised by Vitéz Countess Margit Batthyány-Schmidt and her son, Vitéz Count Ádám Boldizsár Batthyány. Our Order was further represented by Vitéz Margit Kótai, Seat Captain; Vitéz Nob. Mária Medveczky; Vitéz Nob. György Palásthy, Seat Captain; Vitéz Nob. Ferenc Hegedüs, Staff Captain; Vitéz Pál Beck; and Vitéz Zoltán Nagy.
