At the Royal Palace of Gödöllő, on August 31, 2024, Péter Baumann was invested as vitéz, and he was posthumously promoted to the rank of police lieutenant. Vitéz Péter Baumann was killed in 2023 by a man who fatally stabbed him during a police operation, where two of his colleagues were also seriously injured. Péter was an outstanding officer and was given a dignified farewell. His memory lives on, and we will continue to honour it.
