Remembrance of the Revolution

October 30, 2024

Author: Vitéz Gábor Hegyi Staff Captain

This year, the Hungarian community in Cologne once again commemorated our national holiday with dignity. The program began on October 27 with a wreath-laying ceremony at the 1956 memorial cross in the courtyard of the parish. On behalf of the Order of Vitéz, Gábor Hegyi de Agyagfalva placed the wreath. Following this, the celebrating community proceeded to the Basilica of St. Apostles, where they held a mass and prayed together for the spiritual repose of the martyrs of the revolution. The commemoration concluded with a concert by pianist Gabriella Brezóczki-Wedewardt.
