The most Hungarian Habsburg who saw Horthy as a rival

July 10, 2022

Sixty years ago, on 6 July 1962, Archduke Joseph Augustus Habsburg, the most Hungarian of the Habsburgs, died. He wrote his diaries in Hungarian, lived in Hungary and only fled to the West to escape the Soviet occupation. Mihály Nánay, senior researcher at the Rubicon Institute, told Index that while his ancestors had learned Hungarian and got to know Hungarians well, he had become Hungarian without any constraints, lived with a Hungarian heart and thought with a Hungarian mind.

András Sereg’s article can be found on index.hu, on the following link:

May 29, 2022

Author: Vitéz Lehel Székely, Lieutenant

On the Heroes’ Day, the Order of Vitéz laid a wreath in Törökszentmiklós, organized by the Staff Captaincy of East Hungary Region and the lieutenancies of Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok and Békés counties. In Kenderes, after visiting the Maritime Exhibition Hall and the Horthy Castle, we also laid a wreath on the grave of Miklós Horthy, the founder of our Order.

Our event was honored by the presence of  Vitéz Ádám Berniczei-Roÿkó, Deputy Captain General of the Order of Vitéz, Staff Captain of Hungary and the Vitéz Csaba Horváth, Censor of the Seat, as well as several members of our Order.

Commemoration of Mindszenty in Cologne Cathedral

May 06, 2022

Author: Vitéz Gábor von Hegyi

This year, the Hungarians of North Rhine-Westphalia gathered in the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Cologne to commemorate Cardinal Mindszenthy’s visit to Cologne. This time we were in the chapel of the Cathedral to pray together for the beatification of our last prince-primate. As the last point of commemoration, the celebrating audience went to the memorial plaque set up in the crypt, where the Hungarian Consulate General in Düsseldorf, the Hungarian Catholic Pastoral Church and the Order of Vitéz placed their wreaths.
