September 10, 2026.

H.S.H. Vitéz Prince Philipp Ernst zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg Staff Captain of Germany Region of the Order of Vitéz, cordially invites you to take part in the Annual Meeting of the Order of Vitéz in Germany, in the tradition of the Hungarian pilgrimages to Passau on 17 october 2026.
The episcopal city of Passau has a long-standing historical connection with Hungary. Here rest the remains of the Blessed Gisela of Bavaria, who was abbess and the sister of the Holy Roman Emperor Henry II, as well as the widow of Saint Stephen I, King of Hungary.
For centuries, Hungarian pilgrims came in great numbers to her tomb. In 1676, Emperor Leopold I married his third wife, Eleonore of Palatinate-Neuburg, in Passau; she was crowned Queen of Hungary in 1681. Since 2000, Passau and Veszprém in Hungary have been linked by a close town partnership. Veszprém was founded by Saint Gisela. Passau is also mentioned in the Nibelungen saga, parts of which are set in Hungary (Etzel’s castle).
